This office collects the the following:
Springfield Township real estate taxes (the rate for 2012 remains at 3.370 mills)
Montgomery County real estate taxes (the rate for 2012 is 3.152 mills)          
Refuse Service fee (the rate for 2012 is $198.84)
Sanitary Sewer Rental (the rate for 2012 is $4.92/1000 gallons of water, net* *80% of the total water usage for 2011)
Waste Generation fee (this is charged to non-residential/commercial property owners) and remains the same as last year ($65 per ton).
           All of the above comes on one tax bill which will be mailed in early February. If you do not receive a bill by Feb 20th, please contact me.
A 2% discount is allowed if the bill is paid in full on or before Saturday March 31st.
  The "Face" amount is due on or before Thursday May 31st. 
If taxes are paid after 5/31/12 a 10% Penalty will be added to the tax bill. 
All tax bills that are not paid by December 31, 2012 will be sent to the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.
                            
                                                                   2011-2012 School tax bills are mailed during the first week of July.  If you do not receive a bill by July 20th, please contact me.
The millage rate for the 2011-2012 School tax bills is 28.7448
                                                                                                     and the Homestead Reduction (if qualified) is $318.04. (see "News" page for more information)
              If taxes were paid ON OR BEFORE Wednesday, August 31, 2011 a 2% discount was applied.
                                                                                                                             The "Face" amount was due ON OR BEFORE Monday, October 31, 2011.  
                                                                                                                                   A 10% penalty was added if payment was received AFTER October 31, 2011.

                          If the envelope shows a legible postmark on or before the due date, payment will be accepted after the due date. 
                         Without a legible postmark, the payment will be returned and an additional amount will be owed.
                         
                                    Reminder letters were sent in November if any 2011 taxes (County/Township/School/Interim) or fees (Refuse/Sewer rental) were still owed. 
                                                              If you do not receive a letter, you can assume that your taxes are paid in full. 
                             If you do receive a letter and you feel that it is in error, please provide proof of payment such as a canceled check, mortgage statement, etc. and contact me immediately.

                                              All tax bills must be paid on or before Friday, December 31, 2011.        
                   If a payment is not RECEIVED by December 31, 2011 - information on taxes owed will be sent to the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.

When a property is transferred/sold/refinanced, etc. a Tax Certification is required.  We provide them to Title companies, mortgage companies and/or tax servicing companies. 
The fee for a tax cert is $25.  Please allow at least 5-10 business days for processing.  See FAQs page for more information.

                     We gladly help people understand their tax bills and offer aid to those who need assistance applying for senior citizen and Disabled Veterans tax assistance.

                                    I cannot provide forms for tax rebates or Homestead Exemption.  However, a link can be found to those websites on our "News" page.
                                           I do NOT handle Springfield's Earned Income Taxes nor do I provide forms for this tax or any other type of tax return.

                                                                Also, I cannot answer questions regarding your personal income taxes (state or federal). 

                I do not take any responsibility for any tax forms (or other paperwork) sent to me by mistake.     I DO NOT forward paperwork to the proper authority.
                             It is the responsibility of the person who sent the paperwork to me in error to pick it up (or send someone on their behalf to pick it up)
