​                                                                                                                                                                      Springfield Township real estate taxes - the 2021 millage is 4.516
                                                                       ​​                                                                                                Montgomery County real estate taxes - the 2021 millage is 3.632   
                                                                                                                                                                           Montgomery County Community College tax - the 2021 millage is .39
                                                                                                  ​​                                                                     Refuse Service fee - the 2021 rate is $236.59 per residential unit.

                                                                                                                     All of the above comes on one tax bill which is mailed in early February.  
                                                                                                                         ​A 2% discount was allowed if the bill was paid in full on or before March 31st 
                                                                                              ​                            The "Face" amount was due on or before June 1st 
                                                                                                        ​​             If County/Township taxes were not paid by June 1st a 10% Penalty was be added to the tax bill.  
                                                                                                            ​All tax bills that are not paid by December 31st each year will be sent to the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.

                                                                                                                       School tax bills were mailed on June 30, 2021.  If you do not receive a bill by July 24th, please Email me.
                                                                                                                                            The 2021-2021 millage rate is 35.3304.
                                                                                                            The 2021-2022 Homestead Reduction (if qualified) is 353.86.
                                                                                                                                    (see "News" page for more information).

                                                                                                                           If taxes are paid ON OR BEFORE August 31st  a 2% discount can be applied.
                                                                                                                                                 The "Face" amount is due ON OR BEFORE Tuesday, November 2, 2021.   
                                                                                                                                    A 10% penalty will be added if payment is received AFTER November 2nd.

    The School tax bill can be paid in 3 installments but only IF the first installment is made on or before July 30th.                                                                                                          ​
    No discount is allowed if the bill is paid in installments.                        
    The second installment must then be paid on or before September 30th, and the third and final installment 
    is due on or before November 30th.
 ​   If the 2nd and/or 3rd installments are paid after their respective dues dates, a 10% penalty will be added.                                                                                                            
    If any regular due dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the next business day.                                                                                                                                       
    The revised dates will be on your tax bill.

    If the envelope shows a LEGIBLE United States postmark on or before the due date, payment will be accepted even if is received
    after the due date. Without a legible postmark, any payments received after the due date that are not for the proper amount, 
    will be returned and an additional amount may be owed.                                                    
    Postage meters do not apply because the date only proves when postage was affixed, not when payment was actually mailed.

    Reminder letters are sent in mid-November of each year if taxes (County/Township/School/Interim) and/or Refuse fees are still owed.                                     
    If you do not receive a letter, you can assume that your taxes are paid in full.  
    If you do receive a letter and you feel that it is in error, please provide proof of payment such as a canceled check, mortgage statement, etc. 
                  and contact me immediately.

​                                                                                                     The millage for the County Township tax bills is voted on in December 
                                                                                                             and the millage for the School tax bills is voted on in June of each year.  
                                                                                                     I do not have any information about how much taxes will be until then.

                                               All tax bills for the current year must be paid on or before December 31st (postmark does not apply at the end of the year).
                             If a payment is not RECEIVED by December 31st - information on taxes owed will be sent to the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau for collection.

​                                                                        When a property is transferred/sold/refinanced, etc. a Tax Certification is required.  
                                                                I provide them to Title companies, mortgage companies and/or tax servicing companies.  
                                                                    The fee for a tax cert is $35.  Please allow at least 5-10 business days for processing. 
                                                    If you need a RUSH certification, the expedited fee is $50 as is usually done in 24 hours, or less. See Tax Certification page & FAQs page for more information.

                                                                            I do NOT handle Springfield's Earned Income Taxes nor do I provide forms for this tax or any other type of tax return.

                                                                 I also cannot answer questions regarding your personal income taxes (state or federal).  

                 I do not take any responsibility for any tax forms (or other paperwork) sent to me by mistake.     I DO NOT forward paperwork to the proper authority, I send it back to you, but if it is time sensitive, 
                              It is the responsibility of the person who sent the paperwork to me in error to pick it up (or send someone on their behalf to pick it up) during the tax collection hours at the Springfield Library.
